Valentina "Voodoo" Dunacci is an asexual character from Sirens (2014).

Biography

Voodoo is an EMT, staffing ambulance 1 along with Claire "Stats" Bender and Cash.

Appearance

This section is in need of major improvement. Please help improve this article by editing it.

Personality

Voodoo has an inclination towards the macabre: she got into the job because of the guts and gore involved. She likes to take pictures of the more interesting incidents, and sometimes takes things home (one object mentioned is an umbilical cord).

Sexuality

Voodoo is asexual. This is first mentioned by fellow paramedic Henry, and later confirmed by the character herself as well. She describes it as both a lack of interest and a dislike of sex. When questioned about masturbation, she says that she doesn't think of anything while doing it and that it's purely for the physical sensation.

Reaction

This section is about fan reaction to the characters sexuality/gender identity. NOT THE IN UNIVERSE REACTION. In universe reactions would belong under sexuality/gender.

Relationships

Brian Czyk

Brian intents on wooing Voodoo, but the other EMTs try to dissuade him, both on account of Voodoo being asexual and because of her off-putting interest in the macabre. Brian tries to pursue her anyway, and gifts her a severed finger he found on an incident scene. They start hanging out - Voodoo describes the relationship as "intimate without sex", though she also thinks they can never really be boyfriend-girlfriend because she is asexual and he isn't, and the relationship would probably end with one or both of them getting hurt. Brian convinces himself that he's actually "transcendual" - born sexual but having transcended a need for sex - so that they can truly be boyfriend-girlfriend, but Voodoo is not convinced. She takes him to a strip club to try to show that he's in denial about not needing sex, and then tries to physically flirt with him, at which point Brian realises that he still wants sex. They stop their relationship and Brian starts to pursue other women, though Voodoo still has feelings for him and gets jealous when he ends up in a relationship.

Doug

Voodoo and Doug meet on an asexual messaging board. They broke up because the relationship did not translate well from the Internet to real life.
