Ryusei Shidou is a gay character from Blue Lock.
Biography[]
Ryusei Shidou is a supporting character of the Blue Lock. Shidou unlike most forwards has no concrete dream of becoming the world's best striker but rather seeks to enjoy life to the fullest by playing football. Out of the original 300 forwards chosen to be apart of the Blue Lock Project, Ryusei is an ideal candidate for the type of striker Ego strives to create and after the Japan U-20 match, Shidou is ranked as one of the top players in Blue Lock.
Appearance[]
Shidou is a tall, tanned high schooler with spiky blonde hair having two strands falling on both sides of his face (often comapred to antennaes). He has pink colored irises with slitted pupils like a cat's. He is very expressive and is often seen with a joker-like grin or smirk.
Personality[]
Ryusei Shidou is an eccentric football player in Blue Lock who has a strong penchant for violence or physical altercations. At the core of Shidou's personality is a drive to play football not because it is a sport he enjoys playing but because to him it is a biological phenomenon that makes him feel complete.
A noticeable trait of Shidou's is his propensity for violence to get what he wants often being unwilling to work with most people (if anybody at all). Despite this, Shidou can be openly affectionate and flirtatious towards his teammate Sae Itoshi, who had released him from Blue Lock in order to play for the Japan U-20 Team.
Shidou can also be overtly sexual at times and though he is prone to violence, he also learns how to control his violent rampages in exchange for playing high-level football longer.
Sexuality[]
Shidou has always been very clear about his attraction toward Sae Itoshi. He openly tells Sae he likes him and asks for his number. To this Sae responds by saying he’ll give it to him if Shidou scores a hat trick during their match against the Blue Lock Eleven.
When Shidou does score a goal, he ignores the rest of his team and runs directly toward Sae to jump on his back. He states that he wants to play football with him forever and that with Sae he feels a ‘special sensation’ he's never felt with anyone else before. Sae reminds Shidou that he needs to score a hat trick before he’s rewarded, and even goes as far as calling Shidou a horny demon. Shidou responds to this by asking Sae if he can move in with him if he scores 10 goals.
At the end of the U-20 vs. Blue Lock Eleven match where Shidou scored his three required goals (a hat trick), he reminds Sae of his promise to give Shidou his number, and Sae responds teasingly by asking if he can at least shower first.

Relationships[]
Sae Itoshi[]
Shidou openly admits to liking Sae Itoshi and is very flirtatious with him. He asks for Sae’s number if he pulls off a hat trick, and asks to move in with him if he scores ten goals in one game.
Sae is noted to be the only person who can control Shidou, and calls him ‘his little demon’. Shidou even states how he falls in love when he plays football with Sae. A fellow U-20 player Oliver Aiku comments on how Shidou and Sae are a match made in heaven.
