Biography[]
Max is a college student majoring in psychology. For his thesis, he analyzes tape recordings of the crew and passengers of SS Utopia, a ship that sunk in mysterious circumstances many decades earlier. As he continues his investigation of the tapes, he discovers that the ship was in fact haunted by a mysterious creature feeding on human hearts. He gets more and more obsessed with the recordings even after finishing his thesis, which causes troubles in his relationship with his partners Chris and Amelia. He overworks himself and apparently dies.

Personality[]
Max is initially very dedicated to his thesis and he feels attached to the people he hears on the recordings, even though they've been dead for decades. This dedication slowly turns into obsession and he continues his podcast even after finishing his thesis, repeatedly lying to his partners about it.

Max is openly bisexual and polyamorous. He lives in a relationship with his boyfriend Chris and girlfriend Amelia.

When Max gets more and more obsessed with the SS Utopia tapes, both his partners try to dissuade him from continuing the project, with Amelia being much more delicate in her criticism than Chris. Eventually, Max decides to take a break from the relationship.

Chris is Max and Amelia's boyfriend. Amelia and Chris live together in a rented flat while Max lives in a dorm room. When Max gets obsessed with the SS Utopia tapes, Chris is very firm in his demand that Max stops doing his podcast, to the point of the two men arguing over the issue a number of times. Eventually Max decides to take a break from the relationship.
