Biography[]
Mary and her husband Tommy are passengers on SS Utopia, a state-of-the-art self-sustainable ship meant to keep its passengers and crew safe from the war that is taking place on land. Mary and Tommy have problems in their marriage and Mary is deeply unhappy. Some time after coming to SS Utopia, Tommy is killed by Malseph, an ancient evil being feeding on people's hearts. Malseph makes Tommy's death look like suicide, which shakes Mary deeply. Some time later Mary gets involved with a waitress on the ship, Cindy, and she finds herself finally able to admit that she's a lesbian. Eventually, Mary and Cindy get killed by Malseph.

Mary is often worried what people think about her, to the point of giving up her happiness in order to meet people's expectations.
Sexuality[]
Mary is a closeted lesbian. She's been trapped in a loveless marriage for years, as she married only because it was expected of her. After Tommy's death, she finally feels free to be herself and gets involved with a woman. She's surprised to discover that she has no idea how to have sex with a woman, as she thought it would come naturally to her. Luckily, Cindy is very understanding and shows her what to do.

Tommy Washburn[]
Tommy is Mary's husband, whom she married because it was expected of her. The couple doesn't love each other, which is in part caused by Mary being a lesbian, but also by Tommy's difficult character. When Tommy is killed, Mary takes it quite hard, but she is also relieved that she's free at last.
Cindy[]
Cindy is a waitress on SS Utopia. Mary often talks with her as Cindy is always kind to her. After Tommy's death, Mary gets involved with Cindy, who teaches her lesbian sex.
