Jarlaxle Baenre is a pansexual character from The Forgotten Realms.
Biography[]
Jarlaxle is a drow born in the underground city of Menzobarranzan into the powerful House Baenre. Although he was meant to be sacrificed to the drow goddess of chaos Lolth, he survived because he was her chosen. Despite this, he rejected Lolth in favor of leaving house Baenre and starting a mercenary group of drow outcasts called Bregan D'aerth. Bregan D'aerth eventually became a powerful force in the city, and Jarlaxle began to operate on the surface, where they also gained considerable power. However, Jarlaxle preferred adventuring the surface and doing whatever he pleased, so he left his band to his lieutenant Kimmuriel, although he was still technically the leader. From there, he wandered the surface, with varying companions including assassin Artemis Entreri, dwarf Athrogate, and rogue drow Drizzt Do'Urden. Although he would occasionally retake control of his band, he usually left it with Kimmuriel. As an adventurer, he became something of a hero, (despite mainly looking out for himself) helping to defeat dracoliches such as Urshula or the Ghost King, or stopping the flame primordial that would have wiped out the city of Luskan.
