Biography[]
Death came into existence with Eternity, Infinity, and Entropy at the beginning of time. She’s a powerful cosmic entity associated with death and the end of life.
She had a romantic relationship with Agatha Harkness, going by the name Rio Vidal. However, Agatha betrayed her by taking the Darkhold, a book of dark magic, which led to their falling out and hatred for one another.
Appearance[]
Death appears as a woman of Hispanic descent, With black hair, fair skin and brown eyes.
Death at the time going by “Rio” is first seen dressed as a federal agent, she wears sunglasses, a dark blazer, and a crisp white collared shirt. Underneath her blazer, she has a brown leather gun holster. She pairs this with black pants and shoes, and her badge is displayed prominently around her neck on a chain.
When Rio later confronts Agatha after breaking out of the spell, she is seen wearing a black form-fitting top with open cutouts on the shoulders and the sides of her midriff, along with long black sleeves. She has a wide black belt with silver accents at her waist, securing her dagger. Rio completes the look with baggy black pants and heeled boots, while a layered hooded cloak drapes over her head and shoulders.
When summoned to the road, Rio is seen wearing a cropped green jacket with strings hanging from the bottom of the sleeves, while the shoulders have a moss-like texture. Beneath, she wears a dark rugged purple top with cutouts on the shoulders and sides of her midriff, along with tattered dark purple gloves. A wide black belt with yellow accents secures her dagger. She wears black pants with yellow vine-like patterns and moss-like texturing that tatter into strings at the bottom. She is barefoot.
During the fire witch trial, Death is seen wearing a sheer black hooded jumpsuit adorned with intricate silver and black embroidery throughout. The jumpsuit features long sleeves and has delicate, see-through sections that reveal skin, particularly on the arms and legs, while the chest has a deep V-cut.
During the Spirit Witch Trial, Death is wearing a white, short-sleeved top with a red, yellow, orange and green trims. She pairs it with white high-cut briefs, She also wears white knee-high socks.
As Death is revealed to be a skeletal figure with long black nails who wears a black hooded robe with a green crown She wears an armored black top with cutouts that reveals her mid-drift. The top transitions into a dark green dress with a cut out for her legs. She is also seen wearing this outfit in human form.
During the Victorian as the Green witch, Death is seen wearing a green Victorian style dress with floral designs and a hood and cape.
Personality[]
Death is driven by her need for revenge against Agatha, which has corrupted her and made her unpredictable and violent. She’s manipulative, embedding herself in Agatha’s mind to control her. Despite this, Death still has strong romantic feelings for Agatha, showing moments of regret for hurting her. Her emotions are complex; while she seeks vengeance, her affection for Agatha remains. Even in dangerous situations, Death is fearless, enjoying the chaos she causes, and embracing her darker side without hesitation, revealing her aggressive and ruthless nature.

Relationships[]
Agatha Harkness[]
Agatha and Death were lovers in Salem, Massachusetts during the 1750s. Not much is shown about their relationship within the show, however Jac Schaefer confirmed that they met over corpses like Jennifer Kale suggests and that they lived in a cottage. Schaefer also confirmed that they were married and that Death is Nicholas Scratch's other parent. Death mentions that the last time they saw each other prior to the events of the show was when Agatha acquired the darkhold and hid from her, but it's not clear when that was.
During Episode 1, Death talks to Agatha while she's under Wanda's spell, however, the minute she breaks out of it Death lunges at her with a knife. This scene implies a romantic history together.
Death doesn't appear again until Episode 4, where she confirms that the two used to have a relationship and hints at what came between them. The two embrace and Agatha tries to kiss her, but Death stops her from doing so. In later episodes, there are references to their relationship.
After Agatha tells Death that she doesn't want to see her face again, Death attacks her and proclaims that 'you're coming with me'. This fight doesn't last long, and the two kiss as Agatha dies.
