Bambam was confirmed to be transgender by Kanittha Kwunyoo, the director and screenwriter of 23.5, when she retweeted a tweet stating that the colors used on each character in the opening of 23.5 were representation of the characters' gender and sexual identity - Bambam's colors being the same as the transgender flag ones.[1]
