Akiyama Mizuki is a genderqueer character from Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat. Hatsune Miku.

Biography

Mizuki has been treated an an outcast for a very long time. In middle school, they head to the rooftop for "no particular reason", and that's where they found Rui, who went to the rooftop almost everyday. They became friends, and kept each other alive. Currently, Mizuki only goes to school every couple weeks, so they don't have to repeat the grade. When they do go to school, rumors are spread about them.

Appearance

Mizuki is 163 cm (5'3 ft) tall with pastel pink eyes. In their unit uniform, they wear a black sailor uniform with a pullover and thigh high black stockings. Their light pink hair is worn in a side ponytail, with two long strands going down the side of their face. The elastic holding their hair is red with a pink heart decal.

In middle-school, Mizuki had a masculine appearance, with shorter hair and they also sported the male uniform. The uniform was a dark red blazer with golden buttons, a sweater vest, a blue tie, and a pair of plaid pants. Mizuki's gender is still unknown.

Personality

Mizuki is a very moody person, and they tend to get frustrated when they are criticized or ridiculed. Mizuki can be childish and very energetic, but is said to be the most mature member of their unit at times, stated by Ena Shinonome. Mizuki loves cute things.

Gender

Mizuki's gender is labelled as "?" on the official website for the game. They were male-presenting in middle school, wearing the male school uniform and adorning shorter hair. Mizuki was referred to with the honorific -kun by the character Kamishiro Rui, who in the present dropped the honorific. This is notable due to the fact he uses this honorific on many characters, including female characters. Their voice is androgynous.

The community commonly refers to Mizuki as "They/Them". Select characters in the official English translation (such as An and Miku) have referred to Mizuki using "They/Them" pronouns as well, though some do refer to them using She/her" in-game. In the Japanese version of the game the pronoun "Boku" is used, which typically refers to young boys, however can be used for others for various reasons.
