Adelaide Callaghan is a lesbian character from The Blood Crow Stories.
Biography[]
Adelaide is the Sheriff of the City of Mothers, a secret city in the Wild West, that only women are children are allowed to enter. She leaves the city to help Sheriff Eli Thomas find a mysterious serial killer called the Savior.
She grew up in the City of Mothers and was friends with a boy called Everett who left when she was 15 to seek his fortune. By 19 she was the City's Sheriff and that's when Everett came back to the city, as he was being chased by some men. The men tied Addie up and tortured the women and children of the town in hopes of finding out Everett's hiding place. When they left, Addie found Everett and told him to leave and never come back, warning him that if they ever meet again she will kill him. This event left Addie traumatized.
When Eli Thomas comes to the City of Mothers for help, Adelaide and her wives Clementine and Jessamine agree to help, although Clem and Jess soon go back home, while Addie accompanies Eli on his quest, Among Eli's group is Everett, which Addie finds difficult to deal with. They travel around, recruiting a group of people willing to help Eli's quest. Along the way, Adelaide and Everett make up and she also makes a number of new friends. When it is finally revealed that the Savior is in fact Eli's daughter trying to get revenge for her father killing her baby brother in a drunken rage, Adelaide turns her back on Eli - along with the rest of the group - and lets the Savior kill him. She then returns to the City of Mothers.

Adelaide is a brave and strong woman, always ready to help those in need and unwilling to let evil go unpunished. She is a feminist, which is a rarity in the Old West.
